In ELSA we believe that anger in itself is not a bad emotion, it's how we sometimes behave when we are angry.
We use CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) in ELSA to support children to make good choices.
By identifying how negative thoughts affect our mood and therefore our behaviour the children learn to replace these with positive alternatives, children learn more effective ways of coping with problems simply by enriching their problem solving skills.
Often we use different resources and relaxation techniques to support CBT, such as 5 point scale, tapping technique and take 5.
As a parent you can support your child by introducing these resources and techniques at home.
Please see Mrs Cooper or Mrs Walton-Smith for more information.
